Our Story

How we started !

The Women Data Protection Foundation (WDP) was born from a simple yet powerful idea—Advocate Jaanvi Sharma’s vision to empower women to take the lead in shaping the future of data privacy. Seeing the urgent need for a dedicated space where women could thrive in the fields of technology law, governance, and privacy, WDP was founded to bridge this gap.

What started as a small initiative quickly grew into an international network, where women across the globe connect, share knowledge, and collaborate to elevate the standards of data protection. At its core, WDP is driven by a vision to build a world where data privacy is not just understood, but deeply respected by all.
By fostering a community of dedicated, ethical professionals, WDP is creating the foundation for a future where privacy is not only a fundamental right, but ingrained in every aspect of society.

Joining the Women Data Protection Foundation has been one of the most unique experiences in my career. It has provided me with not just a community of like-minded professionals but also a platform to contribute to shaping the future of data privacy in India.

Becoming a Privacy Mason (member) of the Women Data Protection Foundation has empowered me both professionally and personally. It has provided a supportive community and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the field of data privacy. For anyone considering a career in this space, I highly recommend joining a community like WDP to benefit from mentorship and the inspiration to drive change in this fast-evolving industry.
